Information for tenants

Once viewed, a holding deposit of 10% of the rent is required up front, to secure the property for you and suspend its availibility advertising.

Home from Home’s administration involved in the tenancy for each adult – and these are the only charges Home from Home makes to tenants – are £100 plus VAT for the first tenant; for two tenants – £180 plus VAT and if a Guarantor is involved then a further charge of £40 plus VAT is made.

On the day you move in, the following sums – in cleared funds – will be due: one month’s rent in advance; the full deposit (less the holding deposit).

Clearing references/when you will need a guarantor

We use Endsleigh to seek clearance for your credit rating and for full reference clearance.

If a tenant has a satisfied county court judgment, he or she will need a guarantor, along with a certificate/letter of satisfaction from the court.

Tenants with active county court judgments are not normally accepted by Home from Home.

If all tenants moving into a property do not jointly earn a minimum of 30 times the montly rent as an annual salary (for example, 30 x £500 pcm = £15,000 per annum), a guarantor will also be required.
